Use Additional USB Flash Drive/Pen Drive as a ReadyBoost to increase Speed

Windows 10 regularly stores cached data in the hard disk, and then when it needs the data, fetches it from there. The time it takes to fetch cached data depends on the speed of the hard disk.

If Hard disk speed is less or have less space then system may slow.

To improve this we can use a USB Pen Drive or USB Flash Drive of size almost double than RAM to store Cached data. If its speed is good then it will improve the speed of the system. USB 2.0/3.0 or more is good for this option.

Follow the below procedure to complete

1.Insert the USB Flash Drive or Pen Drive.

2.Format it, if it has some data ( format is not necessary, if it already has free space).

3.Right click on it and click on ReadyBoost Tab.

4.Click on Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost.

5.Select Device Space as per windows recommendation.

6.Click on Apply and OK.

7. Open the Task Manager and Click on Performance to check the uses of this device.
